Doomsday Machine by unusualsuspex Doomsday Machine by unusualsuspex
Another revisited episode, though I can claim only a small amount on this one.

The scene came ready made from Raul Mamoru. I just switched out the TOS Enterprise for the JJ'Prise et voila :)

Scene, Doomsday machine and asteroids - Raul Mamoru
JJ 1701 - Ricky "Madman" Wallace

wouldn't it be cool if they actually make a movie centered around this too? :P

Nice re-imagining (yeah, don't think that's really a word, but what the hell...) of one of my favorite TOS episodes.

And I like the JJ Enterprise--just like I loved the 2009 movie. Solid work here....

The Doomsday Machine was an episode based on Brian W. Aldiss' Berserker series. The Berserkers were Robotic weapons that had been created to wipe out a whole race of sentient beings that were at war with the creators of those Berserkers. They turned on their masters and wiped them out as well. After that they decided that all organic lifeforms were an infestation of the universe and must therefore be eradicated.
Star Trek took the basic concept of the Berserker series, and put its own spin on it.

Spin is right considering Paramont hired a future Sci-fi writing standout for the script named Norman Spinrad! :)

I have actually read some of Spinrad's own original works, and can say with conviction that he has done some great writing! It is to his credit that he was able to do such a great job on his adaptation of the Berserker series for Star Trek. ;)

Indeed,  I heard they did a sequel to Doomsday machine called "Dreadnought?"  One of the old Star Trek paperbacks in the late 80's,  Hard to find that book,  i really want it!

Though I have to beg confession dear Sir, that the work was indeed partially completed by another. However might I extend my eternal gratitude for your comments.
